What information do we collect?

Menstrual Matters is a project of Whitethread. At Menstrual Matters, we  collect information from you when you ask a question, respond to a survey or contact us on our site. When filling out a form or responding to a survey, you may be asked to enter your: name, email address, or phone number. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

When asking a question to us on the site, we may collect personal intimate information about your health and wellbeing such as menstrual cycle dates.

What do we use your information for?

At Menstrual Matters we respect and value the privacy of each questioner. Any of the information we collect from you will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent. We may use your information to send periodic emails. The email address you provide when you contact us may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your query. Questions submitted will only be seen by members of the Menstrual Matters team. When questions and their responses are deemed beneficial for the public, all identifying and/or personal information is removed, and an anonymised version is uploaded to our online Q&A database.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter or submit your personal information.

Cookies are small files stored on your computer’s hard drive which are used to collect your personal information. We may use cookies for analytical purposes.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information beyond Whitethread. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
