Am I Considered an Excused Person
If one has irregular bleeding and determines what days are haydh and what is istihadtha. When can they be classed as maadur? If they have their ghusl at the end of their habit, knowing that they are still bleeding heavily.l, would they automatically be classed as maadur? Or do they still need to wait an entire prayer time?
If they need to wait for the full prayer time nd this falls at Isha time, do they wait until the early hours before Fajr to make their Isha salah? Or can they pray their Isha salah with the wudhu they made despite still having the impurity?
Answer
In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth
For a person to fall under the category of an excused person (ma’dhur), the excuse must remain present for one complete prayer time in such a way that a person is unable to perform the minimum fard acts of ablution (wudu) and the fard salat without its occurrence (i.e. bleeding).
So, to answer your first question, the person will only qualify as a ma’dhur if the above condition is met – which is that they are bleeding for the duration of an entire prayer time, from its start time to expiry.
In the situation you described, she will not automatically be considered a ma’dhur after her ghusl. She must wait for the duration of an entire prayer time to determine whether the bleeding is continuous or on and off as described earlier.
During Isha time, if the bleeding is not continuous, she should delay the prayer and try to find a moment she can do wudu and offer her salat without any bleeding. If she cannot pray with purity because the bleeding is continuous and the time for salat is about to end, she will perform the fard acts of wudu and offer her salat. At this stage, she does not know whether her salat is valid or not. If later she does not qualify as a ma’dhur, she will have to repeat her prayer since it was offered without full purity. However, if the istihada continues throughout the entire time for the next salat (Fajr), her excuse will be established and she will be considered a ma’dhur. Hence, her Isha prayer will be valid.
