Reciting Surah Baqarah While Menstruating
Is it allowed to recite the last two ayats of surah baqarah, along with aytul qursi, in menstruation, with intention of Dua. (I’m unsure about the last 2 ayats of surah baqarah would be considered ayats of dua or not)
Answer
In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth
It is not permissible for a woman, during menstruation (hayd) or post-natal bleeding (nifas), to recite any portion of the Qur’an with the intention of recitation. It is only permissible for a woman in hayd or nifas to recite a portion of the Qur’an if the verses have the inherent meaning of supplication (du’a) and the intention of reciting is that of du’a.
Except for the very end of the last verse, the last two verses of Surah Baqarah do not fulfil these conditions and therefore it is impermissible to recite them during menstruation.
